I think the theme in the book "Distant Waves" is be there for your family. I thin that is the theme because Jane's little sister Amelie had slept walked into the icy roof in the middle of the night. Jane knew she was endangering herself, but went out onto the icy roof to save Amelie. If Jane hadn't gone to save Amelie she could have fallen off the roof and gotten hurt. Another reason I think be there for your family is the theme is because Jane refused to leave her sisters on the titanic until the last second where she had to go with tesla and Thad. She showed she was there for her family and putting her family before herself to make sure her sisters Amelie and Emma weren't put in danger. Finally, when Mimi found out she was black and was very embarrassed Jane stood by her and told her that being black didnt matter or change anything between them. Jane stood by her family through the thick and the thin. This show that the authors message was to be there for your family.

The character I would like to meet from "Distant Waves"

The character in the book "Distant Waves" that I would like to know is Jane. She is my favorite character because she is always there to help her family. Even though she is somewhat convinced that her mother is faking, she doesn't tell that to people. She also seems very brave, when Mimi left to travel with Ninette Jane became the oldest sister in Charge, she had to take Mimi's place to be there for her sisters. She used to depend in Mimi a lot, and now she can't. She has to step up and take Mimi's place. Another reason  Jane is always there for her family is because when Mimi found out she was black she told her it was ok and it didnt matter because nothing was different between them.  Another reason I think Jane is brave is because when Amelie was on th PE icy roof sleep walking/ in a trance one night Jane went onto the root, even though she knew it was dangerous, in order to save Amelie. She also saved Amelie when she slept walked down into the ocean, even though she didnt know how to swim and she knew there was a chance she could drown, she knew she had to save Amelie.

My favorite character is Katniss from The Hunger Games. Katniss was very brave and courageous thought the whole story


Katniss was brave because she stayed strong and kept fighting to stay alive. She did t give up. When the medicine Peeta needed to survive was at the cornucopia Katniss was brave enough to risk her life to go there to try to save him


Katniss is courageous because when her sister prim was chosen at the reaping, Katniss volunteered to take her place. Even thought her district rarely wins and she was putting herself in great danger, she did it to protect her sister


Along with being courageous and brave Katniss is also very caring and hopeful. She never gave up hope on winning the games and she provided food for her mother a d sister. She would do anything for her sister a d her mom. That's why I admire Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
